Let's Help Coach Juan (Biltmore Tennis Miami)!

Donation protected
IMPORTANT UPDATE (March 3rd, 2020): First, I wanted to thank you again for your generosity last year, donating over $30,000 to Coach Juan thru the GofundMe campaign initiated by my 10 y.o daughter Emma Wiesenfeld.
It’s been a lifeline for Juan and his family, and your solidarity has also given them a lot of strength and hope! They were overwhelmed to see that 232 people supported them! This beautiful story of a community coming together even made it to the front page of the Miami Herald!

Juan and his family still very much need your help, so I’d like to ask you renew your Donation to buy him time to get a chance to get back on his feet and figure it out. GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/let039s-help-coach-juan

Juan is making good progress, his speech is good, and his physical is improving but it’s still extremely challenging and painful, with all sorts of issues cascading....

Unfortunately, insurance is not allowing Juan to get the proper care needed, making progress even more challenging and the overall struggle very stressful to say the least. On top of that, he is not getting Medicare, nor disability coverage! Yes, it’s insane...

In an effort to reduce their monthly spendings to the bare minimum, they will be moving out to a much cheaper place as their lease expires. While this will definitely give them a bit of air, the issue is that any new landlords will be asking them for at least 3 months down (First, last, security deposit) which they can’t afford. And without these 3 months, they won’t be able to get themselves a new home.

On a brighter note, Juan has started to apply to jobs he could perform from his home (online teaching...), so hopefully he will have some good news soon on that end, bringing them more financial stability, relieving some of the stress, hence making overall progress more likely.

In the meantime, I’d like to ask you once again to support him and his family so that they could see a bit more clearly for the next 3-6 months.

Juandell Brunner is a loving father of 2 and a great  husband. He is also known as "Coach Juan", an excellent Tennis coach I'm grateful my daughter Emma has been training with these past 2 years. His way to bond with the kids on and off the court is truly special, and gives kids a lot of confidence in themselves!

In a nutshell, he's hard working man who always puts everyone else before him.

Unfortunately, Juan and his family have been facing very difficult times ever since they got exposed to toxic mold in their home last year.  Juandell, especially, got very sick from it and still was on the court every day coaching all through the sickness, yet still had a huge smile on his face no matter what! Medical bills were/are exorbitant, so he had to do what he got to do....

But last week, his health situation went from bad to worse. Indeed, he suffered a stroke and lost function of his right side as a result (speech, muscles...).
As a result, he won't be able to work till he recovers....while the medical bills for re-education will be adding up very quickly.

His family financial situation was already precarious due to the mold related medical bills, but now that he can't even work due to his stroke, and it is really putting the whole family into a huge financial struggle.

That said, I'd like for everyone who knows Juandell to contribute thru this Gofundme campaign and/or by helping in a different way to show him and his family that they are not alone in this difficult time of their lives, and help them come out of it even stronger ASAP!

The money will be used to pay for the insanely high medical bills, but also to pay for the very basics (rent, food,....) his family needs to get by, trying to compensate the money he won't be able to make on the court while impaired....

I have set a target of $5000, but he/they needs way more, so hopefully, we can reach that first milestone, and further increase the target!

Let's give back and be as generous as his smile, Thank you!
