Let's Help Desmond, Amber, Amanda and Elliot DeGregory Rebuild Their Lives After Hurricane Dorian

Desmond, Amber, Amanda and Elliot DeGregory are family and friends to many people who have been asking how they can help the DeGregory family in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. After speaking with Amanda, we've decided raising funds through GoFundMe is the best plan for family and friends who would like to support them as they rebuild their lives.

The DeGregory family has family in the US as well as access to the United States.  Their plan is to come to the US as soon as possible. When they arrive, they will have nothing: their house, cars, clothing and belongings are gone.

In Amanda's own words: "We have to start over. There's no returning. We have nothing. We have each other and we are glad for that, but it's hard to be positive. We don't need supplies because there's no chance of rebuilding in Abaco."

This is where WE can step in and help our beloved family and friends rebuild their lives. It will take a village, but I know in my heart that Desmond, Amber, Amanda and Elliot have touched so many people and lives across the entire world with their kindness, generosity, and bright shining souls.

It is OUR TURN now and we will not let down the DeGregory family!

ALL funds raised will go directly to Desmond, Amber, Amanda and Elliot to help them rebuild their lives in the US. Amber will be made the beneficiary of this account as soon as possible.

Please continue reading for a message directly from Amanda describing her family's experience through Hurricane Dorian:

"We have always been through storms. None have come close to this.

We held the door shut for 2 hours. Finally the roof started lifting. Water came in, windows broke, shutters were flying off.

We tried to wait for the eye to run next door to our neighbor's house. We finally couldn't wait any longer because the roof lifted off. We ran with our two dogs and our passports to our neighbor's house in 150mph winds and 4 feet of water.

We got there and finally felt safe. During the eye, 100 people came to the house from around who also lost their homes.

After the eye passed, the roof started caving in the house we were in. Windows broke through because the wind changed direction. Water was pouring in. We held the door shut there for another 2 hours until the eye wall passed.

After 5 hours, we started to hear the winds weren't as bad as they were. Complete darkness and soaking wet. We didn't know how long the remainder of the roof would hold up.

That was Sunday night at 10pm. The winds didn't stop until Tuesday.

It was the scariest thing we've ever experienced – hearing that roof creak and windows breaking, glass flying everywhere."
