Let's help Giovanni, Marco and their team!
Donazione protetta
On Monday, February 10th at 3:15 p.m. a fire erupted in a building at 48 East 7th Street, NYC. Italian restaurant Via Della Pace, which occupied the first floor for nearly 20 years, along with the rest of the building, was significantly damaged . It took more than 100 firefighters and many hours to get this 3 alarm fire under control. It is by the grace of God that no one was severely injured, but this fire left restaurant owners Giovanni Bartocci and Marco Ventura and their entire team devastated. They were unable to salvage much equipment, supplies or even their precious items collected over the years. All that is left for them now are the many memories and a burning desire to start new .
Via Della Pace was the go-to spot for many home sick Italians as well as lovers of classic Roman food such as their pasta carbonara for which they are famous. There is nothing quite as comforting as a delicious plate of pasta to warm the soul as Matteo Berrettini would attest. This was a favorite for the Italian tennis star who credits his success at the U.S. Open to VDP's pasta carbonara as seen on Fox 5's Good Day New York with Tina Cervasio.
Via Della Pace was also home to Lazio Club NYC which was co-founded by Giovanni. The club is a non-for-profit which has raised money for social activities for the community as well as many charitable organizations and has done incredible work since it's inception in 2017.
We all know how difficult it is to survive in NYC these days, let alone having to deal with such devastation. Giovanni and Marco as well as their amazing team of employees, friends and family, have supported their community for so long. It's time for us to come together and lend a helping hand for them now. Let's help them rebuild! With a little help and a lot of hope, we can!
Any donations, kind word, or sharing of this campaign is very much appreciated. While the physical establishment may have suffered great damage , the love of friends, patrons, and community still stands strong!
