UPDATE:
Hello, it is me Jessica. Chris, Marianne and I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generosity, love, support and prayers. We are overwhelmed to say the least. It has already been quite the journey and we know it has just begun. As you know this all started Labor Day weekend and since then we have made many decisions. To update you, we were to start my treatment in Cincinnati on October 5th. We were searching for the right treatment, getting 2nd opinions and we were called by Oncologist, Dr. Freidman of Duke University. He personally called Chris and told him he wanted to treat me. Chris and I had to make a big decision, however we felt God was leading us and so we have to move to N. Carolina for the next 2 months. Temporary housing in Durham NC is not easy, however we found an amazing fully furnished apartment that offers 2 bedrooms and our precious Stella will be able to accompany us and it’s 10 minutes from Duke. I will need radiation 5 days a week, for 6 ½ weeks, while taking a chemo pill daily for 6 ½ weeks and I also got into a clinical trial. Hopefully by the end of the 6 ½ weeks Chris and I will be able to have a glass of champagne to celebrate!
We moved to N. Carolina on Saturday, October 17th, my Mom was able to come along with Lola and Georja as they are on Fall Break for school. Perfect timing as the girls are ever so helpful with Marianne and Stella. It is such a blessing that my mom is able to come out and help us for the first few days of being out here. Today I started the clinical trial drug BMX, it is to help with brain inflammation during my radiation treatments. It was a very interesting situation, let's just say I was incredibly itchy on my head but it should help me the rest of the way. Tomorrow I start my chemo and radiation. It is still surprising to me how strong I feel about the whole situation. I have God, my Papa, and my Grandparents on my side protecting me. It is amazing to have all of the love and support not only from them of course but from everyone. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. It means not only so much to me but the rest of my family. I am so ready to fight this illness and be able to enjoy everyone for a long, long time.
Thank you so much again!
Love Always,
Christopher, Jessica, Marianne, and Stella
