Let's Help Phelan!

Our friend Phelan (aka Wolf) was seriously injured in an accident and could really use our help.
On Sunday August 18th, he was hit by a car while skateboarding. Video shot by friends at the time clearly shows the force of the impact. As a result, Wolf suffered multiple serious injuries. The most severe of these are the fractures to his pelvis and sacrum, which took surgeons (5) hours and multiple plates, screws, and external stabilizers to repair.
He’s now limited to a wheelchair for at least the next three months. This is obviously a big adjustment, from learning to simply transfer in and out the chair, to just getting around. After that, he’ll continue to need extensive rehab and physical therapy to help with walking again.
Once out of the hospital, Wolf’s going to need full-time help around the house. That means his mom Lorien will either have to miss work and/or hire help or the foreseeable future. His home will have to be made more wheelchair accessible too, including things like a ramp (sorry, no transition or coping…) at the front steps. Beyond that, it’s hard to gauge how else this will affect Phelan and his Mom.
Needless to say, he has a long recovery ahead. He’s def. one of the coolest kids I know, and loves skateboarding as much as anyone I know. Those seem like two really good reasons to help him out, however we can, with whatever we can.
Thanks,
