Let's show Ms McMurry how much we love her

Donation protected
Amy Kate McMurry has been teaching in Williamson County for 10 years and has been a blessing to so many GES families during the last 5 years. Anyone whose child has had the privilege of being in Ms. McMurry’s class will attest to her inimitable kindness, compassion, intelligence, professionalism, and passion for teaching. She’s loved us so well, and now we have a chance to love her back.

Amy Kate's health issues began about 4 years ago and have gotten steadily worse in the past 2 years. A significant decline has occurred in the last 6 months, resulting in an abrupt unpaid medical leave from teaching.

The doctors are still working under the assumption that tumors are the underlying cause of Amy Kate's high blood pressure, heart-rate spikes, and many other symptoms. In the meantime, Amy Kate has had mini-stroke symptoms, permanent damage to her left eye, unusual visual anomalies, and facial paralysis. Her meds have been increased, but the symptoms are still unmanageable.

Amy Kate plans to visit the Mayo Clinic on Feb 24 if everything goes well in the next three weeks. Insurance will only cover so much and all of her travel and lodging costs are out of pocket, which will be burdensome for a teacher on unpaid medical leave.

Let's rally around Ms McMurry and show her how much we love her and want her well and back to our kiddos. Thanks in advance for your compassion and generosity.
