Lethal Company - A Short Film
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Sam Chard, I am the writer and director of this project. I have always been an avid "gamer" as they like to say. Last October Lethal Company was released by the incredibly talented game developer, Zeekerss. Since then I have spent countless hours running around abandoned moons with my friends, dying in horrific and hilarious ways. One thing I noticed about each playthrough, was that we would often create stories for our characters. This sparked the idea for creating a short film based on the game. Thus, this project was born.
Logline:
Hundreds of years in the future, a crew of spacemen work for an organization simply known as The Company. Their task: Collect scrap on abandoned facilities and return it to The Company. But not all is as seems, as mysterious forces lurk within the depths of the ruins….
What this project means to us.
Our group has a massive love for film, and the process of making said films. Combining that with love for the game, we see a clear vision for an exciting, funny, and emotional short film.
Lethal Crew:
Alongside me on this project, I have some exceptional talent working tirelessly to bring this project to life. Joining me is; Brooklyn Wiegerink, Maeve Costello, Amiee Turner-Hewitt, Toby Nanidis, Anna Serridge, and Evie Knox.
Why donate?
Being independent filmmakers, we don't have access to massive resources like major studios do. With the resources we raise, we will be able to fund this project while garnering support of the everyman. All funds raised will go straight into producing this film. A breakdown of the budget is attached below.
If we manage to break our goal, that will open opportunities for filming on better sets and possibly even on location. Fundraiser may be adjusted accordingly.
THIS IS A NON-PROFIT FAN FILM.
Release.
We will be releasing this onto YouTube for free once the project is completed. We estimate this film will be published in late Spring or Summer of this year (2024).
Concept & BTS.
To bring this vision to life, we have created some concept art, so you can see what we are aiming to bring to the screen. As well as some BTS of our teaser shoot. If you are wanting to keep track of our journey, follow our instagram page.
We will continue to update this page as we progress with the project.
