Dear Family, Friends, and Church Community members,

We are reaching out to you with a heavy heart and asking for your help. Leticia, a devoted wife, caring mother, and loving Grandmother, warrior of God has been battling and aggressive peritoneal cancer. We are a family of faith and believe that God will help my mother. Leticia’s Journey has been met with multiple challenges but has taken them on with determination and strength from God, family and friends. Leticia now faces news from the doctors that she only has a few weeks maybe a month left, and has now been brought home under hospice care to spend time with family and friends. We are still praying and keeping our faith strong in God’s healing hand. But there are still expenses that Leticia and her Husband, Leopoldo Lopez, need help with. Our family needs help now more than ever, which is why we are reaching out.

A little background. Leticia was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2017. She went through chemo therapy for about 6 months. After chemo they performed surgery to remove the tumor and went through plastic surgery throughout 2018. Then in 2019 during a CT scan it was found that she had a tumor on the outside of her intestines. With ovarian cancer now a new problem, Leticia had a hard time keeping down food and started going through intensive chemo therapy. After going through Surgery in 2021 my mom was said to be free of the ovarian cancer. Not knowing that she was not out of the woods yet, Leticia continued living and enjoying life through 2022. Towards the end of 2022 and beginning of 2023 Leticia was not feeling good and decided to get a few tests and scans. Knowing her history, her Oncologist Dr. Edward Huynh, had her go through multiple scans to be thorough. It was found that Leticia had a tumor growing in the outer center part behind her brain. This warranted multiple radiation treatments and more chemo therapy before a brain surgeon was able to operate and remove the tumor in February of 2023. Leticia was said to have all signs of the cancer removed from her head, but of course with the caution that nothing is guaranteed. She needed to remain with chemo therapy pills for at-least 6 months but just a few months later, August 18, 2023 Leticia was admitted into the hospital after multiple complaints of pain from her head to her back. Also because she could not eat food without later throwing it up. It is at this admission to the hospital, after a CT scan, MRI scan, and multiple blood test that it was found that a tumor has grown in the back of her brain again and the cancer has spread down to her spine. The area in her brain where the cancer is located cannot be treated so easily. And the treatment available would only prolong her life another month to three months. And has a low chance of success.

Like I said, we are a family who believes in God’s healing hand. We still have faith that God can perform a miracle in my mom.

Nos acercamos a usted con gran pesar y le pedimos su ayuda. Leticia, una esposa devota, madre cariñosa y abuela amorosa, guerrera de Dios, ha estado luchando contra un cáncer peritoneal agresivo. Somos una familia de fe y creemos que Dios ayudará a mi madre. El viaje de Leticia se ha enfrentado a múltiples desafíos, pero los ha asumido con determinación y fuerza de parte de Dios, familiares y amigos. Leticia ahora enfrenta la noticia de los médicos de que solo le quedan unas pocas semanas, tal vez un mes, y que ahora la han llevado a casa bajo cuidados paliativos para pasar tiempo con familiares y amigos. Seguimos orando y manteniendo nuestra fe fuerte en la mano sanadora de Dios. Pero todavía hay gastos con los que Leticia y su esposo, Leopoldo López, necesitan ayuda. Nuestra familia necesita ayuda ahora más que nunca, por eso nos acercamos a ella.

Un poco de historia. A Leticia le diagnosticaron con breast cancer en 2017. Se sometió a quimioterapia durante aproximadamente 6 meses. Después de la quimioterapia le realizaron una cirugía para extirpar el tumor y se sometió a una cirugía plástica durante todo el 2018. Luego, en el 2019, durante una tomografía computarizada se descubrió que tenía un tumor en la parte exterior de los intestinos.
