Lets all get behind the beautiful Germain family x

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shona Wakley. Having lost my mum to cancer last year, I well and truly understand the effects of this brutal disease not only on the person but on family too.

My best and oldest friend Emma Germain has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Burkitt Lymphoma. For the last 6 months she has undergone numerous rounds of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and blood transfusions. The latter causing battles with sepsis. Being 33 with two young beautiful children and a loving husband, Sam. Emma is fighting so bravely and we all just want to say how proud we are of her.

I hope you will all agree this is a fantastic way to show our love and support to the family by helping in any little way we can. Unfortunately Emma's husband Sam does not get compassionate leave from work, which makes it very hard to provide for the family and support Emma. Sam wants to be present, and we want to support Sam financially to allow him to do that! This is where every penny will go.

The challenge we have set ourselves is to raise as much money as we can by cycling for 24 hours in our house in Pen-y-Fai in aid of the Germain's. We will start this challenge at 7pm on Sunday the 25th August and it will finish at 7pm on the Bank holiday Monday. This is a bike ride over 24hrs and I realise I can't do this on my own. I'm going to need help from Emma's friends and family to complete this challenge. So please contact me to take part and i will organise a timetable closer to the date.
Unfortunately Emma has been given the devastating news the current treatment plan has not worked and the Doctors are seeking specialist advise elsewhere. Emma starts a different type of chemo this week in an act to suppress this cancer enough to give her a bone marrow transplant. The family will be tested for matches but we do ask, if you haven't signed up to the bone marrow register, please do, at www.dkms.org.uk
Our main aim is to raise as much money as we can to ease the burden this beautiful young family are going through. So please understand, if you give to this cause, no matter how big or small, you are helping a family through one of their darkest times.
We love you Em
