Let's all help Joel and his family!

This sweet little boy is my nephew, Joel Gardner. He is two years old and was recently diagnosed with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia, also known as JMML. JMML is an extremely rare, chronic leukemia that has only been diagnosed in young children under 5 years. JMML causes white blood cells to grow uncontrollably in your body and collect in certain organs. These organs can swell drastically and eventually burst. The only existing treatment is a stem cell transplant, or a "bone marrow transplant". Joels plan of treatment has been altered by doctors in the past few days and he will require two rounds of chemotherapy in hopes to kill all of the cancer cells before he goes to transplant. This journey is happening much sooner than we had originally expected and if everything lines up he will start this process mid June. Joel will remain hospitalized at Levine Children's Hospital a month long during each round of chemo and then be taken straight to transplant after round two. My sister will be out of work 3-4 months if not longer to be with him during this time. As life and bills unfortunately do not stop, even for a crucial time like this I would like anyone who is able to help her and her little family during this time and relieve the financial stress so that she can focus completely on helping her son get better from this. All proceeds will go towards helping pay monthly living costs, car, insurance, travel/board expenses for her and her son and to help pay for meals as they will basically be living in the hospital for this extended time. Please send all the love and prayers their way, as they need that more than anything in the world.
