Josh Carney is a beloved friend, peer and inspiration to many. His personality and infectious smile light up a room. For years Josh has been sharing his story as a motivational speaker and has touched the hearts of countless people. Josh's perspective on life is something to be admired. Despite a tragic hunting accident that left him paralyzed many years ago, he has continued to stand up each day to every obstacle he meets. (Josh would want this joke inserted here.)

Recently, Josh started to experience temporary paralysis in one of his arms. Since this had never happened before, Josh made a trip to the emergency room. During this visit, Josh would receive news that would leave him with few answers and even more concerns. The titanium rod supporting Josh's spine is no longer doing its job; because of that, his spine is separating from itself. This discovery still does not address the paralysis in his arm and why it is suddenly happening. The doctors know that an impending surgery must occur to correct the spinal separation. The surgery will likely require a lengthy recovery process, and there is still the question of what is going on in Josh's arm.

Josh has only asked for prayers during this time, but we know he will need more than devotion. With minimal mobility, Josh will not be able to continue making a living to cover his medical expenses and monthly bills. To help Josh, please come together to give whatever we can; even if it is a dollar or five, every last penny will help.

There is no timeline yet for how long his road to recovery will be, but we know it won't be quick. All money will cover Josh's medical expenses and day-to-day living through this uncertain time.
