Let's bless Sheena and fam!

[[AN AMAZING UPDATE! We have been blown away by the amount of support for Sheena and fam! I have adjusted the goal upward 4 times now to keep up. We keep going because the more we raise, the more reliable the vehicle they will be able to purchase. They start moving into their apartment on 7/21 and the $4,100 check for the first month's rent and security deposit has been delivered. We will keep the GoFundMe up and running through Monday, 7/24. It was Easter weekend of '21. Normally, Sheena would be where she has been every other Easter, for the past 15+ years: celebrating Jesus' resurrection with her spiritual family, Sandals Church. Instead, she found herself in the hospital, waiting to be called into the OR. Just a month prior, a cancerous brain tumor was discovered and she was about to have it removed.

As a single mom of three, you can imagine what a significant blow this was to her and her three kids (Kobe, 21; Kyndell, 13; Kawai'i, 12), something she (and the kids) are still dealing with and recovering from. Despite a 20-year career as a service rep for Kaiser, Sheena simply couldn't return to work, creating a financial burden that still exists.

About 16 months ago, the landlord of the home the family lived in for 10 years decided to sell the property, and now, after 7 months of living in a hotel, Sheena just signed a lease for a 2-bedroom apartment. Praise God!

Set to move in on July 21st, the first month's rent is $2,600 and the security deposit is $1,500. So, THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! I'd love to see us raise $15,000 to cover the $4,100 initial move-in costs, a bit of a buffer, and anything over $5,000 will go to saving up for a vehicle. About that, the family does not have a vehicle and is dependent on rides to get to church, along with Kobe who Ubers to his full-time job that helps support the family financially.
