Let's buy a round for Steph & Sherry...

Hiya, it's me, Renee... Steph's little sister. I wish I was just writing to ask people to pitch in for a round of drinks for her (lord knows she's earned it), but I'm here asking for funds to help my gem of a sister with living expenses as she goes through rounds of chemo over the next year. She was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Stage 3C Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with regional spread. It's been a whirlwind since the diagnosis and she begins chemotherapy this week. She will go through 6 months of chemo, have surgery with a month to heal, followed by 6 more months of chemo and radiation. She has left her job, so she can focus her energy on getting well and kicking cancer's ass. She is only beginning and the financial strain and worry is already being felt. I am hoping we can pull together some funds, so that she can focus on her health throughout her treatments and surgeries. If you're from the Owl Bar, Lizzards, Griff’s, Cellar Bar, Hans Bier Haus, The Secret Group or Jack & Ginger’s crowd, I'm sure we've crossed paths in one of my many visits to "see my sister" when she tended bar (As you all know, she happened to be quite persuasive with the drink and a stellar bartender, lol). With her kindness and authenticity,  I know that to many, she was so much more than just a bartender.

 

If you're friends or family, you know Steph is the last person who would ask for help or worry anyone. She is so much like her Grandma Barbara was... stubborn as hell, with her ol' take-no-shit, "I'll just do it my damn self." self, lol.

 

But, we all know that with that toughness and strength, comes the sweetest soul with the most beautiful smile (she gets that from her Momma). I don't think there is a single person that has met Steph that didn't fall in love with her instantly. She has always taken such amazing care of me (and everyone else that has been lucky enough to meet her) and now I'm hoping we can return the favor.
