Lets buy this good Samaritan a car for Christmas!

My friend Gray Marino shared this story on Facebook. When I read it I was blown away by this man's selflessness. I had wanted to do something special for a family this holiday season, and I knew we had to do something for him when I heard this story.
After looking more into it, it seems this young man moved to Maui 5 years ago to be with the woman he loved. Now they have kids, and he works security at the grocery store to support his wife and him and put himself through college. But what got me was that he rides his bike to work and school every day because he doesn't have a car and has been doing this for five years. When I put myself in his position after a long day of work and school, wanting to go home to see my family and go to bed, but choosing to ride my bike to the next town miles away instead to return this women's wallet, I know this guy has a huge heart. This shows the effect that one act of kindness and selflessness can have and the way we can impact the world by repeating these actions.
The story told by my friend Gray:
"On Saturday, my wife left her wallet in the shopping cart of Foodland in Kahului by the mall. After loading the baby and groceries into the car, she hadn’t even noticed it was gone.
Several hours later we had a knock on our home door. It was the security guard from Foodland. He had found the wallet, and after seeing that we didn’t come back for it. He got on his bicycle and he pedaled miles to Waiehu where we lived, getting the address from her ID. He literally rode his bicycle to return her wallet. Completely full of everything important to her, including cash. Nothing was so much as moved.
The security guard said is name was Aina Jose. He works at the Kahului Food Land (on Maui). Words cannot do this gentleman justice. He truly is what is right on our island and in this world."
Gray and I would like to raise $5,000 so we can buy Aina a used car before New Years, 1/1/21. It's probably a long shot, but he deserves it, and Gray and I will be the first to contribute.
PLEASE help us buy Aina and his family a car for Christmas! We want to recognize this man's selflessness and incredible act of love, reward him, and keep the good will going! There's so much negativity in the world today and it seems to spread like wildfire.. let's put an end to that and start spreading positivity, love, peace and community support right now!
Thank you so much, I get choked up just imagining the impact we can make on this young man's life. He really deserves a little Christmas spirit this year!
We plan to post a video of us delivering the car to Aina, by New Year’s Day . If we're able to raise enough money we'd like to pay for insurance and gas for 6-12 months also.
This event was organized by the https://www.mauihomebuyers.com/ team (visit Maui Home Buyers to get an offer to sell your house fast for cash or visit their sister company Hawaii Cash Buyers to get a cash offer in Hawaii on any island) along with the help of Title Guaranty Title and Escrow Maui location.
Update: Aina has been loving his 2017 VW Jetta! I ran into him at the Pukalani Foodland, since now he can pick up security shifts all over the island! He used some of the extra funds to provide treatment to their cat that is sick, and is researching ways to invest the remaining funds long term so he and his family can finally begin building their own little nest egg. So proud of this man! Thank you everyone from all over Maui, the United States, and all around the world for your generous donations!
