Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Roel Paña, 53.

Roel unexpectedly passed away from natural causes on May 5, 2024, in King Cove, Alaska. To say that we are shocked is an understatement and unfortunately, we are not prepared to pay for costly transportation and multiple stops to bring him home to California. Due to King Cove being a remote island, private air transport was needed, and additional expenses were made towards a temporary funeral home in Alaska. Added funds are also needed for his final funeral and memorial service in his final resting place in Stockton, CA.

Roel was the best brother and uncle to his large Filipino family. As we come to terms with Roel's passing, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. We want to give him the dignified and heartfelt send-off he deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming for our family during this already challenging time.

We are reaching out to our community for support in honoring Roel’s memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow us to focus on grieving and remembering him fondly.
