Let’s Fight Together Against Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Kathy, and I am setting up this fundraiser for my brother, Vance (60) to help support him while he fights for his life.

Vance hasn’t been well for a while. He started experiencing abdominal pain last year. Doctors were unsure of the cause and thought it could be an overgrowth of muscles. He tried to overcome his pain and continue working, but in January, while he was visiting his daughter and her husband, his pain got significantly worse. He finally decided to go to the hospital and get checked. The doctors did some tests and said it was acute pancreatitis. He was admitted to the hospital, and further tests were done. The doctors found lesions on his pancreas, liver, and lung. Biopsies were scheduled, but even beforehand, the doctors said, “It looks like cancer.” Once we heard, all we could do was hope and pray that it wasn’t cancer. His biopsies for his liver were scheduled for February, and his pancreas was in March.

On March 6th, Vance found out the results from the Oncologist that both biopsies were malignant. Then came the diagnosis of “Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer”. His life as he knows it has changed forever. The overwhelming emotional distress that was felt is without words—grasping the concept of Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer and what it means for him and his family.

Vance started his first round of chemotherapy treatment a few weeks ago. Within days, he was admitted to the hospital. The Chemotherapy was so aggressive that it caused his immune system to crash.

With everything Vance is enduring right now, we don’t want him to experience additional financial stress. So, we are asking for your help. Any financial support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
