LET'S GET A NEW PIANO FOR THE SUGAR MAPLE!!!

Hello all!

This is Matt and I'm an avid jazz fan here in the midwest, based in Chicago. I've been attending shows at the Sugar Maple since the late 2000s. Adrienne has always been welcoming and generous for allowing her bar to be used for this music.

I have wanted to do something for her and the maple for a long time. I think we can all get behind this fundraiser as a way to help both the club and the great artists that want to play there.

Today, Jim Baker & I chose a great used Yamaha P22 which is pictured on the front page. This was a model I was looking at for a few weeks but I wanted a pianist to try it out to make sure it truly was a good one.

Everybody should thank Jim for volunteering his time to travel out to the suburbs and play this and a few others today.

This is a top shelf upright piano that is in great condition and comes with a bench. It is from a reputable dealer (the largest in the midwest they say) here in the Chicagoland area, Cordogan's Pianoland.

What's great about buying this from a dealer is we get a 5 year warranty which is not something we would get from many places. They also are going to completely go through and make sure the piano is in tip-top shape before they deliver it. They also include a free tuning a month or two after the piano is purchased.

The piano is $3800 but there are other fees involved:

If we surpass the goal, all of the extra money will be used for maintenance or tunings.
