Let’s get Al home and the medical care he needs

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share the news that Alec Harju, a father of two young children (ages 2 1/2 and 1) was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Al underwent surgery on Monday, April 24. During surgery, Al had a stroke that left his right side impaired. He is facing an extended hospital stay and weeks of in-patient rehabilitation/physical therapy.

The Harju family is facing an ever-increasing amount of expenses that add to the physical and emotional burden of his diagnosis and recovery. The treatments, medications, rehabilitation, and doctor visits are just some of the many costs that the family will have to bear. To date, Al has undergone 2 surgeries, 8 MRIs, 2 CT scans, 4 neurology appts, and a psychology appointment and he is facing many more in the coming weeks

I have set up this GoFundMe page to help with the Harju expenses so they can focus on Al’s recovery. All contributions will go directly to covering the costs of the many treatments and services as well as helping the family with their day-to-day expenses. Your donations will allow them to focus on his health and well-being without worrying about the financial impact of his diagnosis and recovery.
