Let’s get behind Tominey Reid!!!

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, a big thank you to all of you for your support and generosity to date!

It is wonderful to be able to update that Tominey has left the hospital and has begun her recovery at home. She recently got to spend her 21st with friends and family, with the new nickname “Hot Wheels”.

Her journey is going to be a real marathon and definitely not a sprint, with many milestones and challenges expected along the way. Right now, Tom’s days are filled with appointments and follow ups, as well as home nurse visits each day – almost like a hospital at home situation so not a lot of fun and definitely not the carefree existence you would expect as a 21-year-old.

One of her surgeons has recently advised that the reality of her journey could end in her not having the full range of movement that we had all previously hoped for and as you can imagine, this is heavy news for Tom and her future goals.

Bearing this in mind & while also knowing Tom’s tenacity and determination, which has gotten her as far as she has in the last six weeks, we are hopeful that the next 12 months continue to be positive and she continues to defy those odds.

Tominey is very strong and determined, however, she will continue to have difficult days ahead and all support she receives is imperative to her recovery. With that in mind, we have raised the goal of the GoFundMe in order to continue to provide her with additional financial support and remove some of those financial worries that come with such a massive change of life. She has constant love and support from her family, but relying on them for financial help will make her feel like a burden and she is most definitely too proud to ask.

As the next chapter rolls on please keep Tom in your thoughts, if you are able to donate, please know it will have a direct positive impact on this courageous young woman who just turned 21 and has her whole life ahead of her.
