Let's Get Derek Better!!!!!!

On December 4th, our beloved Derek Smith ("Smalls") had a severe stroke while attending a company golf outing at Pebble Beach in California. Things got tricky very fast and he was emergency medivac’d to Stanford Hospital for emergency to remove several blood clots in his neck. Due to some complications with that procedure, Derek suffered a subsequent stroke which landed him in the ICU at Stanford for an extended period of time. After nearly 2 months in the Stanford hospital system, Derek was finally able to return home to his Wife Stephanie and 3 sons, Noah, Aidan and Shaun. This was an extremely difficult time for his family and made for a very challenging holiday season. Derek is in need of extensive occupational, physical and speech therapy and rehabilitation. He is receiving the best care, and is now with his family to help drive him to maximize his grueling rehabilitation program.

A lot of people have asked how they can help. This campaign is to help raise money to help cover medical expenses that are falling outside of his insurance coverage – and adding up quickly, as well as helping the family while Derek focuses on getting better. There is a long road ahead, and many unforeseen expenses, not the least of which is Derek not being able to work while he’s getting his body and mind to where they need to be. We appreciate all contributions to the cause for our brother Derek and his family.
