Let's Get Jake to France!
Donation protected
Hey, I’m Jake De La Motte and this year, I will be representing Australia in the Virtus Global Games in Vichy, France from the 4th to the 10th of June 2023.
Virtus Global Games is the world’s largest elite sports event for athletes with an intellectual impairment.
I will be participating in basketball. I live and breathe basketball. It has helped me overcome many barriers and struggles I face with having an intellectual disability and living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through basketball I have been able to stay active, make friends, it has taught me discipline and given me self-confidence and a purpose. Ball is life!
I am writing in the hopes that you might be able to financially support me to achieve my dream through a donation or sponsorship. The cost for me to be able to go and play is $6,500. In the past, I have done my best with the help of my family to cover the costs but it is getting harder and harder for me.
In the past, I have had the honour of representing my country in:
- INAS World Games – Brisbane – We won the Silver medal
- Boomerangs - Italy - Bronze
- Boomerangs - Ecuador -
- Special Olympics – LA - Gold Medal
Sponsorship and donations will help me to:
*Purchase uniforms and equipment
*Help with the cost of flights and accommodation
*Help promote sports inclusion for intellectual disability
As Dylan Alcott calls it, the “invisible disability”
If there is anything you can do to help me, I will be very grateful.
Thank you so much,
Jake
