Let’s make a terminally ill woman’s dream come true! To do this, we need to raise money for a Camper van so Kerri can spend the rest of her time doing what she loves, visiting her rescued animals.
Kerri Nicholls was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2022 and underwent major surgery to remove 3 tumours. Sadly only weeks later whilst undergoing chemotherapy the tumours grew back, with a new lesion showing up in her brain. At this stage Kerri was told she was terminal and to get her affairs in order as she didn’t have much time left… Fast forward 2.5 years and Kerri is still with us
Kerri is everyone’s favourite patient, lighting up the room of each hospital stay, treatment or appointment. Kerri’s positive attitude and outlook is truly inspirational. Despite being terminally ill, she puts a smile on the face of everyone she meets
Sadly Kerri has developed a few complications from her cancer treatment. Along with the large tumours in her abdomen, Kerri has developed 3 big hernias from the first surgery, the biggest being 10cm! The weight of this, combined with the radiation and steroids has caused a severe crush injury in her spine and 3 compressed vertebrae. Despite being in constant pain, Kerri still wakes up with a smile on her face.
Kerri is still working part time at a rural waste facility to provide for herself… but her true passion is rescuing animals. She has spent the past 7 years rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for animals in need. Sadly, due to her physical health declining, all of her rescued animals are now in the care of her friends and family a few hours distance from Kerri.
Because of Kerri’s pain and discomfort in her back, she cannot sit in a car for long periods of time. We are hoping to raise funds to help be able to purchase Kerri a campervan so that she can travel with her husband Ross comfortably to visit her rescued animal babies whilst she still has time left with them ❤️
Kerri will never ask for anything, so let’s surprise her with this incredible gift and make the rest of her life a dream come true!
