Lets Get Kevin a Kidney

Hi- My name is Kevin Moore, I'm 46 and the father of an amazing 6 year old little girl. In 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure. Since that day I've been on dialysis 3-4 times per week while interviewing to get accepted to the kidney transplant list at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. My application has been accepted and now its a waiting game. The call can happen at anytime, and when it does, I need to be ready. On February 15, 2023 I received a call around Noon telling me I would be on the operating table at 5PM that day. After running thru the pre op tests I was told the kidney I was set to receive missed the plane, so no transplant. Bummer! That was a wake up call though, this process happens fast and I need to be prepared. I'm reaching out to friends, family, colleagues and friends of friends to ask for help. The out of pocket expenses are going to be high. I need a hotel for a couple weeks but also my family and support group will need the same. There will be airfare costs, possible rental car costs and food for a couple weeks. Anything you can do to help in this time of need is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
