Let’s get Michelle to the States

Hello to our friends, our family, and to any kind strangers,

As some of you may know, and for those that don’t, our dear friend Michelle’s brother Steven has been battling his diagnosis with MND (Motor Neurone Disease) for the last 2 years.

Steven was first diagnosed in 2021 and is now living with late-stage ALS. ALS is a progressive nervous system disease that affects motor nerves in the brain and spinal cord, causing a loss of muscle control. It's a devastating loss of function, and sadly there is currently no cure.

As Steven looks to how he can continue to cherish his life over these next few months, he has decided to do so on his own terms, to celebrate and enjoy his remaining time with his friends & family.

Since Steven’s diagnosis, Michelle has visited him in America where he lives, a few times now and has been financially strained from paying for accomodation and flights with very little notice. Michelle has never once complained and would never ask for help on her own, so we’re here to do it for her.

We are asking you all to help us raise money for Michelle’s flights back to America to visit her brother one last time. Saying goodbye will not be easy but this time is precious and this would be her last chance to stand by Steven’s side and celebrate his life.

Unfortunately with these circumstances there is very little anyone can really do, and as friends we feel extremely helpless, so our main goal is to alleviate as much financial stress for Michelle as possible during this time.

We understand it is a trying time for everyone right now with inflation being what it is and the increase in cost of living. Any donation, big or small helps us to help Michelle tremendously. We appreciate anything you can give, and for taking the time to hear and support Michelle, alongside Steven during his battle.
