Let’s get Morgan Pires to Dubai

Hi, I’m Mel O’Brien and I’m fundraising on behalf of Morgan Pires and her Mum, Dayle.

On the back of Morgan’s performance at the 2023 Indoor cricket National Championships in Queensland, she has been selected in the Cricket Australia Under 18 Girls Indoor Cricket Team to travel to Dubai, UAE, for the World Indoor Cricket Federation Junior World Series in September and October 2023.

Selection in an Australian team is an enormous achievement and something Morgan, Dayle and her sisters Shayla & Abbi are tremendously proud of.

Not only does Morgan live and breathe cricket; playing both outdoor and indoor seasons; she’s also part of the pre-season squad for the WACA Cricket Academy.

She is tough, resilient and determined - just like her mum, Dayle; who is currently undergoing her 2nd course of 6 rounds of chemotherapy following the diagnosis of stage 4B cervical cancer in June 2022.

Prior to her diagnosis, single mum Dayle went to Morgans games each week; however due to complications arising from the progression of the cancer and ongoing treatment she is now unable to do so.

The treatment she is undergoing and the short time frame available to raise the funds required makes fundraising for Morgan’s trip difficult - which is where you come in!

We want to make Morgan’s dream to compete internationally representing Australia come true and this is where we need your help!!

Players are required to self-fund their tour which is estimated to be $5,300 each. This will include tournament entry costs, domestic and international flights, accommodation, two meals per day, bus transport, and apparel.

We have set our goal at $5,500 to cover the above and also fees associated with this fundraising page.

Any amount, big or small, would be amazing and very much appreciated.

Not only will Morgan’s goal to compete overseas be met with your assistance; it will also provide a huge boost of positivity to Dayle and her daily battle and enable her to watch her daughter achieve her dream which is something that truly will not be taken for granted.
