Let’s get Oakley home

I’m Preston’s Aunty and Oakleys great aunty. 

I originally started this GoFundMe to help out Preston during such a scary and unpredictable time. We want Preston to put all his focus on Oakley,without having to worry about any financial obligations. 

As most of you know Oakley has been in the Children’s hospital since Feb 12. 

Oakley was diagnosed with a rare brain disease. The update from Preston is below. 

 The family was hoping Oakley would be up and recovering. But the little guy hasn’t even woken up yet.

So we are asking everyone to share/donate/and pray for little Oakley. 

When Oakley recovers and makes it home. I’m sure he will need a lot of medical support. So let’s show Oakley we stand beside,and support him.

Update from Preston

Here’s the latest update: 

“My little man is being a very tough boy through all of this. Its been one week since he was admitted into Royal university hospital, at this current time there is still a lot of unanswered questions and variables as to when and if he will wake up, if he will have permanent brain damage, vision loss. with the non stop assessments, tests, blood work, saliva swabs, MRIs , EEG scans, X-rays , urine samples, doctors have been working aimlessly to determine what’s going on and how to treat it.

After his most recent MRI scan they have concluded his condition is a very rare and uncommon disease not seen in Canada. 

the neurologist and head doctors here have not seen cases like this and tell us they are more commonly seen in foreign countries, They have had infectious disease specialists come in, respiratory specialists, neurologists, paediatricians, anesthesiologists, and every other kind of doctor you can possibly think of come and assess oakley.

They call it, Acute-Leukoencephalopathy with Restricted Diffusion. What that means long term for our little boy is uncertain, doctors do not have a lot of answers for us right now so until they figure out a plan of action it is still and will continue to be a waiting game for everybody. 

I am so thankful for everybody’s support and love that has been given thrus far, I’m sorry that haven’t been able to answer everybody as I’m sure a lot of you want to know what’s going on. it blows me away to see how many people are behind us through this horrible time and I want you all to know I am grateful for every single one of you. We will all continue to pray for our Oakley doakely and I will remain by his side until he’s home with us.❤️“

It’s been 1 week since Oakley was rushed to the hospital. 

Everyday waiting for some sort of treatment to make Oakley better. 

With still no answers, the family sits here together just waiting for updates. 

We are heartbroken that we can’t be With  Oakley. 

We’re praying everyday that they tell us that Oakley has woken up and the doctors found some sort of treatment. 

But until then, we just sit and wait. Which seems to be the hardest part 

The family is blown away by the overwhelming support for Preston and Oakley. 

We can’t help but cry to see how many people Oakley has touched. 

So from the bottom of our hearts. We Thank each and everyone of you. 

Keep your prayers coming. Baby Oakley needs them. ❤️❤️
