I am astounded by all you amazing people, you have all donated so much and I know Simone really appreciates it. For those that don’t know Simone’s story, here it is. She is one brave woman!!!

Back in August 2017 our family were visiting family in Kent. We lived in Germany at the time, due to being in the army. Whilst on a dog walk with a friend Simone with no prior warning had a 6 minute long tonic clinic seizure. She was rushed to hospital for observation. Bloods were taken and vitals checked (no scan) and they were satisfied that she was ok to leave, but would need to see a neurologist. The doctor composed a letter for the doctors in Germany. Once back in Germany Simone was seen by the doctors and was told to go to the hospital immediately for a scan. Consequently a tumor was found on her right frontal lobe. We were told that she needed it removed and 10 days later she was in surgery. Simone was in theatre for 8.5 hours.  When she came out of surgery she had severe swelling on the brain, resulting in a very large seizure. Simone was sent to intensive care and sedated for 2 days. We were told the procedure had gone well and that although due to the nature of the tumor it would grow back, this shouldn't be for 3-5 years. Simone had to have half her head shaved and had 37 staples.

Simone had to have scans every 3 months and after only 9 months she was diagnosed with a second tumor in. At first Simone didn't want surgery again as she didn't think she could cope with it all again and she really didn't want to.habe her head shaved again. Unfortunately Simone then had another seizure and the choice was taken away from her, a couple.of weeks later she was back in hospital for surgery. Again the surgery was said to have gone very well, this time we were told that she would hopefully be tumor free for around 8 years.

We then moved to UK, where scan happened less frequently, but in September 2020 (22 months after second op) she was diagnosed with a third tumor. This time it was decided that surgery wasn't an option (a very large proportion of the right frontal lobe had already been removed.) It was decided that she would have a 6 week course of radiotherapy, travelling to Southampton and back 5 days a week.  After the radiotherapy treatment ends, she will then have a 4 week break, followed by a 6 month course of chemotherapy.

Simone is now facing daily struggles with not being able to drive again, so can’t easily get around, having to support her beautiful children as they are obviously worried about Mum, but both are trying to stay strong. Craig has been her absolute rock through all this so shouldn’t be left out, he has been there by her side from the start, taking her to appointments, comforting her when things get tough, but most of giving her his unconditional love and support.

The whole family are going through so much right now and all deserve some sort of recognition.

If anyone can share this for more awareness I would really appreciate any help. Let’s get this noticed!!!

Thank you again to everyone.
