Update: 12/26/2022. Bob & Alison hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and wishes everybody a Happy Healthy New Year. They are overwhelmed with all the love and support shown to them, thank you so much! Please continue to keep them in your prayers. He is resting comfortably at home with Alison taking great care of him. He's taking one day at a time, and very very weak this morning. He said he loves everybody, and to always remember:
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!
Per his request, this site will no longer accept donations. Thank you for helping Bob and Alison, please continue to keep them in your prayers.
Today 12/17 Bob is weak. He said not to worry about him, when he goes he's going to a better place. We played Amazing Grace over and over, with no words, he tapped along, with a cool washcloth on his forehead. He said I hear the music and smiled big. His childhood friend Victor came to visit with him, man what crazy stories they were reminiscing about. Bob walked a little but mostly rested. He squeezed my hand a long time, thanked me for being a good friend. Today was the first day I didn't want to leave. and HE LOVES EVERYBODY.
He decided to accept some help from hospice and the initial meeting was Wednesday. Friday morning the caseworker arrived to get things organized and scheduled. This is just to have extra help for him and Alison too. Time spent means the world to him. I listen to him talk about whatever he wants, treasured memories some crazy some not, and stories of all the musicians he's met along the way, some famous some not. We play music, watch music videos, Little Feat, The Band, Paul Simon, Eric Bibb, and many more of him and the music of days gone by, brings him the Biggest smile! Last Friday we watched Arhooly Rhythm & Blues Band videos. This also gives Alison time to take care of things she needs to and get a little time to herself. He always says to bring your guitar. Please keep him and Alison in your prayers.
Our friend, brother, musician - vocalist & drummer extraordinaire needs us.
Please keep Bob and Alison in your prayers. As of the doctor's visit last week, cancer spread even quicker than thought the weeks before. Please donate if able and please share, let's show him love and share some good times and smiles. He's at home and comfortable with Alison. He is so grateful and overwhelmed by the love and kindness shown. He would like to thank each one individually and said he could feel the prayers and keep 'em coming. Donations go directly to his bank account. A small GFM fee of 2.9% is $1.46 for a $50 donation. Be sure to slide the tip bar to zero.
Bob was made to play music. Local Statesville native whose talent is known near and far. As a talented artist, he has shared so much music with us over all these years. He’s the long-time drummer of The Part Time Blues Band. Also a touring drummer with Arhooly Rhythm & Blues Band and The Robin Rogers Band. The list includes Jamie Trollinger Band, Papa John and The House Party, Bargain Basement Blues Band, The Deluxe Band, Front Street Band, Blues With A Feeling, Ministers Of Sinister, Scott Johnson Band and many more.
He’s an honest grounded human with a BIG heart and worthy of any help we can give. He's always been there for his family, especially his parents and friends too. He's always cheerful, fun, and a little silly, and he keeps everyone upbeat and laughing with those silly grins. We're lucky and grateful to have him in our lives. Please pray, please donate if able; and please share.
What a wonderful testimony of love shown for him Sunday, 11/20. Thanks to The Part Time Blues Band for hosting the benefit. A special thanks to all the fine musicians who played incredible heartfelt sets. Folks near and far gathered together to show tremendous support and financial gifting to this amazing human; the venue was packed the music was excellent. Bob was there in spirit and via Skype; his smile was so BIG. He is very thankful.
