Send Whitney to Study in the UK at Edge Hill Uni

Support Whitney Francis an Aspiring Psychologist in the ‘Age of Intelligence’

Whitney is my very dear friend and last year when she shared that she wanted to go back to school to pursue a career in Psychology, we got to work exploring how she can accomplish this life goal. After a long and diligent search, she fell in love with Edge Hill University in Ormskirk England and got straight to work to secure funding. With scholarship options being few and highly competitive for a Jamaican national, it was decided to take the extra step to get Whitney into school.

Whitney is from a humble upbringing in the rural parts of Jamaica. She grew up in a single-mother home and she knows what it means to dig deep and sacrifice for the greater end. This is reflected throughout Whitney’s life, as she continues to volunteer to help the homeless in our city and every Christmas day, she organizes to go to homeless shelter and on the streets to feed over one hundred homeless people. Whitney does not leave it at that, as an added layer, she volunteers at our local homeless shelter, The Refuge of Hope, throughout the year to help wherever she is needed.

Whitney also loves children very much and this love is reciprocated. Even when the Covid-19 pandemic hit and everyone was suffering under the ordeal of the shutdown orders, it was Whitney who reached out to the children of our church to assist and be there for them to help keep them grounded. Whitney is currently the Children’s Ministry Director at our church here in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She envisions taking her ministry for the future further by serving children and families to live a balanced life in an ever-advancing technological world. As things such as artificial intelligence and other intelligent designs are on a rise, Whitney’s mission is to get ahead of the curve to help children especially navigate the impact of what is here and what is coming. Whitney is an advocate of technology and acknowledges that it is a key function in society. She is also certain that it can also have a negative effect on our future generations if we do not have the proper structures and policies that will benefit both society and people as a whole.

For Whitney to accomplish this she would need to complete her master’s studies in Psychology to set her on the career to join the others to ensure that today’s technology is not the death but the beginning of us and for generations to come.

Cost Breakdown
On her own, she does not have the means to afford the tuition for the Msc. Psychology (Conversion) course which is £13,750.00. The UK embassy also requires proof of her ability to afford her stay for one (1) year which is £9,207.00. To account for inflation, an additional 25% must be added for a grand total of £28,297.00, which is needed by April 30, 2023.

We are seeking help to get her trained to help our society as we transition into a new age, the ‘Age of Intelligence’.
