Let’s give Adrián a fresh start

hi as most of you know I'm Katie Adrian's mom. As I sit here to put this together, I'm totally embarrassed and a little ashamed. However, what most of you don't know, is what has gone on with Adrian and me for the last 3 years almost to the day. I'm going to try and make this as quick and still well-informed as possible.

In August 2020, Adrian was struggling greatly in all aspects of life. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on, looking back now it all makes sense. To respect Adrián and my privacy I'm going to leave out excessive detail publicly, but if anyone wants to chat privately please reach out. Adrian had suffered some severe abuse, that has changed his life forever.

Our entire life dominoe out of control from there, and we lost everything. Our home, my job, most of our belonging, everything... immediately I went to social services for help, but the system is broken, and we fell thru every crack and hole.

Fast forward to today, and I am typing this from my new bedroom in our new very own low-income apartment. We are so grateful and blessed to finally say we are not homeless anymore.

I have left out a ton of info that I'm happy to share via conversation because there is no room for our story in this small space.....it's a doozy!!

So we are starting over, with Adrian getting a fresh start at a new school in less than 2 days. He needs all the things all kids need for back to school shoes, clothes, backpacks and supplies. I need to catch our car up on payments, obtain insurance, and my tags are due this month. we need household items, towels, linens, lamps etc and food cards.

With Adrian being diagnosed with ptsd and emotional disturbance, it limits my availability to work, I miss my job. However I'm supposed to be returning to work part-time by the end of the month, but in the meantime, we have dire needs.
