Dearest friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, community, caring souls, and all of the countless people who this amazing lady has impacted,
Liz Benecke and her family need our love, prayers, support, assistance, and help in fighting the biggest battle of her life.
As Liz's health has rapidly declined her stomach has stopped working. She has surgeries scheduled to remove her stomach and part of her esophagus with more tests pending results on other red flags with her adrenal gland and lymph nodes.
While all of this happening she has been battling an autonomic nervous system disorder known as dysautonomia that requires she has transfusions 3x a week.
Liz is a fighter and despite the dysautonomia, she has always put others first.
As (an amazing) mother of 4, an Army veteran, and a RN for the last 14 years, life has given Liz many hurdles to overcome but we are going to show her we have her back when she needs us most!
As you all likely know... Liz has always had the heart and passion to help all those that she can whether on enemy lines, the hospital, around her community, and within the great outdoors.
In December Liz was Awarded "Person of the Year" in Green Bay WI for her outstanding efforts and generosity. Liz founded "Wisconsin Face Mask Warriors", which began as something very small making and providing health care workers, police, and other workers with face masks. What started out as a small idea quickly grew into something much bigger and with the help of many volunteers this idea has now made and distributed roughly 475,000 face masks, even shipping many as far as Kuwait for the soldiers stuck in lockdown.
In the outdoor world, Liz is one of the best examples of a sportsman. Over the last year, she has worked with several companies, groups, and outfitters creating opportunities for hunting and fishing trips for our military veterans at almost no cost. She sets the perfect example of what it means to "give more than you take." Without her efforts, many of these activities would have never been possible for our service veterans.
As you also likely know... anyone who meets Liz is a better person for it. Her courage, positive outlook, and servant's heart are contagious and inspirational. So now it is time we ask that you surround her with the same positive energy, support, and unconditional love she has given us and those around her.
