Let's give Caleb a LEG up!

Hi, my name is Maria Jordan and I'm putting together this fundraiser for an amazing young man, who is like another son to me. I recently read his wife's post on Facebook and it really moved me. They are going to have a lot of medical expenses as well as living expenses needed for 2022. I'm going to paste her words right into this, as she shared it so well. I'll add my thoughts after her's but their need is big and I know many of you want to help them out.

 

"Dear friends, most know about my husband's leg situation, but for those who don’t, here is a quick recap. When he was 4 years old he was ran over by a lawnmower and his knee was severed only leaving the artery holding it together. He’s had 25 surgeries and has lived in a lifetime of pain.

Today, we had a doctor's appointment to decide our options to alleviate pain and lead a better life—we decided to move forward with amputation, with a date set of January 5th. Amputation was one of the two options we were given, this being the best.

Please keep us in your prayers as we move forward with this decision. We will take on many hard ships—mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially, but We have faith that God will prevail in our situation. He is the ultimate. The I am And the one who holds our future. Love you all. ♥️

 

I reached out to them after reading this post and asked what I could do to help, knowing they would need financial assistance. I asked them if I could create a 'Go Fund Me' account for them because I knew they would not want to ask for help.

 

Caleb currently has insurance which will pay for the surgery and some of his prosthetic leg, (yes, you read that right.) The total cost for the ankle, knee, plus the socks and sleeves he needs will cost $35-$40,000 with their out of pocket being $10-$15,000. 

 

They are expecting Caleb to be fully recovered and back to work in 6 months, although it may take longer. If you know Kasey & Caleb, you know they have an adorable three-year-old, a six-month-old baby and another one on the way. They will have 3 little ones under 3 years old (whew.) They need our help with expenses for medical equipment, hotel stays, and on going bills. (Life never stops when you are in a crisis, we all know that way too well.)
