Our dancing friend, Artist and longtime community volunteer JoAutumn Brook has recently been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and will be having surgery in the late summer or fall with the goal of remission.
Since JoAutumn is otherwise healthy and has good mental/emotional/spiritual skills, she is accepting this with a rather Zen attitude, while taking actions to move her care forward. Her positivity and acceptance has honestly been inspiring. She does not see her cancer as something to battle against, but rather as a part of her being that needs extra love. She remains hopeful that she can beat the odds for this serious form and live out her dreams of traveling.
JoAutumn now has full medical coverage from Medicaid and Medicare. She will be turning 70 and will be receiving social security several months from now, but needs help paying her monthly expenses in the meantime. She can no longer work because of the impact of her treatments. We are setting our goal at $7000 to cover her for the months that she has no income. Any level of contribution is sincerely appreciated. Thank you for considering this, as many hands make light work!
