Let's give Lucy her perfect funeral
Donation protected
On Monday the 27th of February, Lucy tragically passed away by taking her own life. She was only 22.
Anyone who knew Lucy will know how she selflessly spent her time helping others and touched the souls of each and every person she met. From working as a youth worker to caring for the elderly and eventually studying to become a children's nurse, Lucy always did everything she could to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of other people. Unbeknownst to most, Lucy struggled with on-off depression for several years; perhaps this was caused by the burden of feeling she needed to put others first, sadly, we will never know. Unfortunately, Lucy eventually succumbed to the pressures of life and decided that this world was no longer the place for her.
Lucy had described her perfect funeral to me in casual conversation. Regrettably, due to the unforeseeable nature of Lucy's passing, our family do not have the money to give her the send-off she wished for and as her brother, and best friend, I believe it is my duty to do everything in my power to make her vision a reality. Lucy tirelessly, and often thanklessly, worked to help other people and I feel that fulfilling her wishes should be our way of thanking her for her actions.
Thanks again for your support and condolences, we'd be lost without you all.
Yours sincerely,
Alex and family.
Please note that any money that does not go to the funeral will be given to a charity such as Samaritans or charities that Lucy has worked alongside, such as the Teenage Cancer Trust or the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
