“Let’s Heal Together!” - LaTia Edwards

My name is LaTia Edwards from Charlotte, NC, a single mother of one 7 year old boy, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist for Atrium Health. January 27, 2023, at the age of 34, LaTia learned that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Less than 6 months prior being diagnosed with Cerebellar Tonsillar Ectopia, navigating its neurological symptoms.

And nearly two years before her grandmother underwent surgery and treatment for breast cancer herself. As a Psychotherapist, she has guided patient’s on their journeys of hope through medical and mental health challenges.

We have all faced many challenges that may have left us more questions than answers, and we are all managing the many hats that we diligently wear on a daily basis. We all have a special story to say about our experience of life. Through it all we express our gratitude knowing that we are presented with enough strength to get through each day as it unfolds. We are strong!

LaTia is scheduled to have a double mastectomy on April 20th with a TBD date for Reconstruction surgery. Through this journey of multiple surgeries and the possibility of Radiation treatment, we ask for continued prayers and God guidance. After her upcoming surgery, she will be unable to lift her arms for about 3 weeks and have limited mobility for work during recovery. The second surgery set she will be out of work for an additional 6 weeks or so.

LaTia is a fighter. As a woman of God she is asking for prayer for healing and a full transformation of mind, body and spirit. However, this will be a journey of leaning on loved ones for support, prayer and encouragement. Any contributions or resources made spiritually or financially will be greatly appreciated and the seed you sow into her life will be blessed beyond measure. She thanks you and is praying that God blesses you for helping. I appreciate each and every one of you. I am so blessed to witness God working in each and every one of you. We are so resilient! We are so Strong! We have and continue to overcome so many adversities. It may look like odds are against us but the victory has already been won.
