Let's help a special person in need!

Tax deductible

Sometimes you meet a person along your travels that instantly becomes a friend. Over the years that person had an inside view of the creation and execution of the West End Food Pantry. It is not easy to start and then sustain a food pantry when you wear many hats. The challenges and stresses are real but through it all; I’ve had my person. A person I could call in my ups and downs. A person that added guidance and encouragement and that person has a heart for God, for community, for family and love! Sadly, I learned terrible news about my person a few weeks ago. Her words are below; however from the bottom of my heart; I am asking you to give $1, $5, $10….every bit helps and adds up. All monies collected from this GoFundMe will be given to the family for bills and medical expenses. Because the Pantry is a non-profit 501C3, your donation can be tax deductible; please use the GoFundMe receipt as proof of donation. Also, because we are a “proven” non-profit fees for using GoFundMe are minimal and the family will get the most out of your donation. I’d like to take some stress of her and her family as they move through an evil that can break the strongest of persons. Cancer is our enemy and we will fight it together with prayers and financial help. It’s the best we got for now! Stay tune for updates. -Sincerely Karena Thek

My husband & I have been together since I was 14 yrs of age & he was 17. We've been together 38 years & married going on 33 years on 7/16. The Lord has blessed us w/a daughter who's 32 & a son that's 29. We have 4 beautiful grandchildren whom are the apples of our eyes. My husband has always been a strong hard worker since the moment we first met. He's ALWAYS worked and provided a good life for our family. His last & most recent job before he became sick was at the hospital & worked for almost 19 years 6pm-6am so that we would be able to take care of our disabled son that suffers from multiple seizure disorders. Our son was a straight A student w/photographic memory until he began suffering from multiple seizure disorders & has epilepsy since the age of 10 1/2. It became so debilitating by the time he was a teenager, effected him physically, emotionally, mentally & psychologically as well. He had to be homeschooled & while his friends & cousins were living normal lives & went on dates, were partying, got there license, went to proms, graduated, went to college, got married & had children which we taken for granted & is a blessing...he was battling & struggling daily w/battlefield of his seizures having anywhere between 7-15 seizures a day including Grand Mal seizures which are so debilitating & caused him to be hospitalized, visited ER, seen specialist and appointments more times than we can count. Through it all my husband was our rock & super hero! He worked 12-12 1/2 hour shifts for almost 19 years until last year when COVID hit! He began feeling sick & working in the hospital they thought could be COVID related & gave him strong antibiotics. Towards the end of the year & during the holidays he continued getting worst but continued pushing himself to go 2 work until on Valentines Day he barely could walk into the house from his shift he'd just finished & almost collapsed! I rushed him to the ER & what we thought could be COVID, kidney stones or infections? The horrific news still surreal to us: Found masses all over his bones! After seeing Oncologist & Urologist, bone scans, biopsy, mri, CT and blood cultures he was dx w/stage 4 prostate cancer which has spread all throughout his bones our lives will never be the same!!! He's homebound now and in so much pain its so debilitating. He's on chemo the side effects are horrific. He feels terrible that he's not able to work & is only receiving 1/2 his pay bc hes on disability. I'm blessed to be able to work from home and take care of my loving and caring husband and our son. Its not easy but the Lord gives me the strength! I told him that our finances should be the last thing on his mind as he's fighting for his life and trying to stay strong! We're praying for supernatural miraculous healing & for the Lord to give him the strength & perseverance he needs to get through this, For we are more than Conquerors in Christ! Nothing is impossible for our God, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING & he will provide our financial needs as well. We are taking it step by step, one day at a time...doing our best & trusting the Lord to do the rest!!! Our struggles are very real but so is Our God, trusting in the Lord wholeheartedly that he will turn this around so that He could be glorified! Please keep my family in much needed lift my husband and stand in the gap & agreement for supernatural miraculous healing-Amen & Amen!

With a humble & grateful ❣ thank you so very much!!! God bless & protection over you & your lovely family!
