Let's Help Affected Families Rebuild Their Homes
Tax deductible
This past August, a 7.2 earthquake and Tropical Storm Grace devastated the Southern peninsula of Haiti. More than 2500 people were killed; Over 15,000 were injured; And about 140,000 buildings were destroyed. Families in the affected areas are appreciative of the limited help they have gotten thus far but continue to make it clear that their most pressing need is still for help to rebuild their homes.
Vandredi Anba Tonnèl is a community gathering space that brings together like-minded Haitians every Friday night in Brooklyn, NY to discuss matters of concern to the Haitian community, to Haiti, and to the world at large.
As we have done in the past when tragedies befell Haiti and the Haitian community, Vandredi Anba Tonnèl is springing into action. We are reaching out to ask you to contribute to a campaign we have launched to raise $100,000 to help some of the affected families who are still living under tents, tarps, and sheets rebuild their homes.
We encourage you to give generously and to share this link with your family and friends to ask them to do the same.
We thank Flanbwayan Haitian Literacy Project which is helping us collect funds for this effort.
