Let's help Amberly fix her car!

Hello friends and family.

For ten years I have been trying to get Azriels Acres to be a homesteading food forest that myself my family and our animals can all live together and be self sustainable on.

I grew up poor in the swamps of Louisiana and have had to work and fight hard to carve out a place to call home. It's not much with its dilapidated condition but we've been working it and calling it home. The ducks play in the pond we hand dug and the chickens scratching away at the bugs in the Hügelkulturs we have layed down and worked. You can see flowers growing that we traded with others for. And see the wild bee's and birds darting here and there cautiouse of the barn cats and herd dog. We where just making it.

If one single thing went wrong financially we would be faced with the loss of our dreams. Then covid hit. Like you all we stayed home in shock and afraid of the future. But greatful that we had food we could produce and a home to stay safe. But then the items that we need that we can't locally source was harder and harder to come by. The food we had was not yet enough to feed all six of us. Hubz and sons got jobs or had jobs outside the homestead doing landscaping. It was outdoors and they could avoid close contact with people. And that helped with the cost of living increased by the pandemic.

Our car broke down in the middle of the road on the way to buy bird feed from the local feed store twelve miles away from home. I opened a credit card. We pushed the car to the nearest homestead and the man told us we needed a front axel. We bought it for $185 on the credit card. Then we pulled $100 out and payed the man. He tried to fix it but could not.

We then paid $100 for a tow to the nearest town. The shop said the transmission had a crack and had to be replaced. They could hold it for two months while we found the funds. We paid the shop to replace axel. And I opened a second credit card in hopes of getting enough. Then electric bill was due and there went that.

Hubz can't get to work. We can't get supplies noone will take us to Dr's and we live to far into the woods for bus or taxi. Now over six months later and storage fees for car we where 3k in debt for car alone.

We paid of around 1k. But we are now oit of options. After ten years and all the love and work two thousand dallors is standing in the way of staying on our beloved homestead.

I appreciate you taking the time to read some of our story. Much love light and good fortune to you and yours.
