Let's help bring Ludmila home
I am a local community worker and elected representative in Limavady and as such I am acting as a link for the family of victim Ludmila Poletelova with the family liaison Officer. The intention of the fundraiser is to help pay for the repatriation of Ludmila.
Ludmila has been a part of the community here in Limavady for over 15 years, moving from Latvia in 2006. She has been described as "Just a lovely lady", "some one who genuinely cared about people" and "a really hard worker". She spent most of her working life here as part of the hospitality sector, working in several restaurants in both Limavady and Ballykelly. She worked hard an in doing so helped to support her family back home in Latvia. Ludmila also gave up some of her time to help out in local charity shops in our community.
Her family are facing the most difficult time dealing with the horrific manner in which she was murdered and losing their much loved mother, sister, and aunt. They now have to deal with the expense of getting her home to lay her at rest in her native country, Latvia.
I would appeal to everyone to donate no matter how small, the repatriation and funeral costs will amount to thousands of pounds, and we only have a short time to raise the much needed funds. Hopefully Limavady and Northern Ireland will show Ludmila's family the fantastic community she had become a part of and loved so much.
This fund will remain open until Friday 30th April when the funds will be donated to the family to help pay for her repatriation.
I will withdraw the total funding raised and transfer to the family who will in turn make all the relevant payments needed to bring Ludmila home
Thank you
