My dad (Clement Hassam)70 years old pensioner had a mild heart attack on the 26th of January 2024. Before this mild heart attack, he used to suffer from chest pains, which has been on going for the past 2 years. On the 26th January 2024 the chest pain was really bad, which led him to seek medical attention the next day. Dr Dixon ran a couple of tests which confirmed he indeed had a heart attack. Shocking to hear this news, our journey began. My dad was referred to see a cardiologist in Harare, she ran her own tests as while and concluded that an urgent coronary angiogram procedure needs to be done asap. A coronary angiogram is part of a general group of heart tests and treatments called cardiac catheterization. Cardiac catheterization uses one or more thin, flexible tubes, called catheters. The tubes are placed within the major blood vessels of the body and the heart. The test requires a small cut in the skin. During a coronary angiogram, a treatment called angioplasty and stenting can be done to open any blocked arteries. We got all the required quotations from the hospital, and the team of doctors. Unfortunately, both the hospital and doctors do not expect Engineering Medical Aid and require us to pay cash up from before treatment. The overall total required is USD 13000.00 (THIRTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS) We as a family are pleading with family, friends and the public to help raise funds to help raise money to get the procedure done asap before my dad suffers another heart attack.
