Let’s help Debbie with medical & monthly bills

As many of you know our good friend, Debbie Adrian, had a severe stroke on April 18th. For the past four months she has been in rehab, first in Waco, then Round Rock and now San Antonio. Although she has made tremendous progress, through sheer determination and very hard work, she has been left with deficits that prevent her from going back to work and from driving. Her goal is to go back to work, but it’s going to take time. In the meantime, she has lost her job and her health insurance effective August 31st. She has applied for disability but that will take months, likely many months, to be approved and even longer to see any financial help.

Debbie, like many of us, has worked very hard her entire adult life to own a home, a vehicle, and to have some savings in the bank. But in the blink of an eye she’s at risk of losing her home, she’s unable to drive her car, and her savings have been depleted. What she’s left with are bills and no way to pay them not to mention a lot of anxiety. Medical bills and prescription medications are mounting, and she needs to pay her monthly utilities, food, etc. All of this is also affecting her credit as she is unable to pay these debts.

When you are fiercely independent and take pride in providing and caring for yourself, it is extremely difficult to ask for help. That is why I am asking for help on Debbie’s behalf. Put yourself in her shoes and imagine losing what you’ve worked so hard for.

Life is very scary for Debbie at present. The uncertainty of her current situation and the future is weighing heavily upon her. She’s hoping to go back to work within 6 months and is working hard to physically and mentally be able to do so, but there are no guarantees. Together, we can take a load off her mind and allow her to focus on getting well. Debbie has been there for many of us over the years, so now it’s our turn to be there for her. Please help me to show her how much we care for and love her. No amount is too small!!
