A Fight to the Finish Line: Support for Donna
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Chenelle Marshall and I am asking for you to partner with me and my family in support of my mom as she fights the toughest battle of her life.
Recently, my mother relocated from the Seattle area to join my brother, Sean, in Shreveport, LA. Sometime in early December, she scheduled a doctor’s appt. Being a new patient, they had blood work done. That is when the unthinkable happened. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. A low dose CT scan revealed an anterior mediastinal mass. A biopsy was performed, the tumor was malignant. This unexpected news shocked my mother and rocked our family to the core.
My mother has always been my hero and role model. I watched my mother juggle the demands of being a single parent, while working a full-time job and going back to school. As my mother fights for her life, I wish that I had the financial resources to take care of her living and medical expenses myself. Unfortunately, I do not. Growing up in a household where service was the cornerstone of our being, I became a civil servant. Like teachers, civil servants are not the highest paid, so at this very critical time, we need the support of family and friends.
Currently, my mom is living with my brother, Sean. Sean was laid off shortly before my mother’s cancer diagnosis. As you can imagine, my family is going through a lot. The good news is that our faith is strong, and we believe God is with and will not forsake us.
As I close, I want to thank you for reading this letter. I also want to thank you for your prayers, calls, support, and financial support. We are forever grateful for your generosity.
All funds will go to help with medical expenses, treatment costs, co-pays, prescriptions, and other expenses/services that Donna encounters while undergoing treatment.
With sincere humbleness and gratitude, I thank you.
