***UPDATE***
From Erica:
Today is two weeks since the unthinkable happened and my world was turned upside down in an instant. Standing and watching your life burn is indescribable. It's been quite a journey since then, lots of tears and grief for things lost and the rebuilding yet to come. But the beings that truly matter made it out and are here beside me. I cannot thank everyone enough for the outpouring of love and support I have received. It has been so incredibly overwhelming and truly humbling. Once I am back on my feet, I will focus on paying it forward. In the mean time, a thousand thank you's and my gratitude are all I have to give

On June 9th a fire broke out at a construction site in Maple Ridge. Dispute efforts of Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Mission Fire Departments the flames quickly jumped an alleyway and ignited the building Erica had just moved into a few months ago. Erica was not home at the time but quickly learned that her place was threatened. She rushed home and was able to get her cat out before embers and falling debris made it impossible to get near the building. Erica’s two dogs were with her at the time and are also safe. No one in suffered any injuries but the building has sustained considerable damage to fire smoke and water. It is unknown what Erica has lost or not but she unfortunately had not secured renters insurance for her place. She is in good spirits and staying with family but has only the clothes she had on and what little she could buy with the $150 Emergency funds The Canadian Res Cross was able to provide. Please help us get Erica back on her feet with a donation of whatever you can. Thanks to Maple Ridge Fire, Pitt Meadows FD, Mission FD and the Ridge Meadow RCMP. Thanks Al P.
