Let’s help Gene with his recovery❤️

Hi my name is Dorothy Hovey I am asking for donations for a very special handsome man, my brother in law Gene Devereaux.

Gene has battled with hereditary pancreatitis as well as cirrhosis and other gastrointestinal ailments linked to pancreatitis since 1991. This past September he was hospitalized and treated for a fungal infection in his blood. The infection then came back and landed him in the hospital on November 15th, 2021. Now, two months and three hospital transfers later, he is still in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve which the life-threatening fungus had attached itself to.

He is expected to be discharged in the next week, and both he and his wife, Mary, will be staying with their daughter Danielle while he recovers. After months of dealing with this, Gene is very weak and still suffers from chronic pain related to his ongoing gastrointestinal issues. Many have reached out with well wishes and looking for ways they can help. The family could use help buying things insurance won’t cover to help with Gene’s recovery, the mounting medical bills that await him when discharged, and travel expenses for the family following his 2 month stay 2-3 hours from home.
