Help Veteran Dylan Recovery from Auto Accident

Hello, my name is Michael Truesdale.

I’m starting a fundraiser for my nephew, Dylan Truesdale, due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Dylan is 26 years old and a Vet who has served his country from 2015 to 2019 as an Army Ranger in the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. After his service ended, he returned home to pursue his dream as a Photographer. Dylan had spent some time in Montana and just a week ago had the opportunity to start a new job in Hawaii and moved there to pursue his dream. On June 24th Dylan was involved in a tragic car accident. He’s still in ICU and has extensive facial injuries. While the Doctors worked on him as long as they could, his facial swelling is so severe that they'll have to try and do more in the coming days; once his swelling subsides, the Doctor can better assess the extent of the damages. His right eye was severely ruptured, and while the Doctors managed to save it, they are saying that he probably won’t have any sight in it and could still lose his eye if it doesn’t heal properly. He has multiple other facial fractures on his face, his jaw is wired shut, and he has a tracheotomy for breathing and a feeding tube. There is also damage to his knee and ankle, which will require surgery. The Doctors expect him to remain in ICU for at least 3 to 5 days. He will need more reconstructive surgery on his facial injuries once the swelling goes down and the doctors can assess his damages better; on the last update, we were told that Dylan would need Reconstructive Surgery on both eye orbitals.

Dylan was just getting started on his new job when this tragedy struck him. He was not financially prepared for such a life-altering event and the unexpected medical and rehabilitation costs that his injuries would present. Once Dylan gets out of the Hospital, he will need extra care and rehabilitation. It will take some time for Dylan to get back on his feet and be able to work again; therefore, we ask for assistance from anyone willing to help Dylan on his long road to recovery.
