Let’s Help Grandpa Rhodes Pay for Jaw Surgery
Donation protected
Some of you know that my Dad was recently diagnosed with oral cancer that has spread to the bone. He will be having surgery this Tuesday to remove and rebuild his jaw. Unfortunately, It will be a long recovery and he will be on a trach and feeding tube afterward. 6 weeks post-surgery, he will begin radiation, and possibly chemo (but we are praying hard that the cancer has not yet reached the stage where chemo will be needed.)
It has been a very scary and stressful time for all of us. My mom has been bearing most of this by working around the clock to make all of his appointments and scans, to make sure he can get what he needs after the surgery, and to figure out how to do this financially. She will be his nurse for the weeks following the surgery, and she will be unable to work during that time.
They have insurance which is very helpful, but his upcoming 7 night (at minimum) hospital stay costs $200 per night out of pocket. I would love to ease that burden, and help with some other things he will need post-surgery to keep him comfortable.
If you feel lead to help, we would greatly appreciate it. Truly, anything helps. Even $10 can buy medicine for mouth sores. Thank you so much.
