Let's Help Hunter Rippey's mom, Katherine Dailey!

This past Saturday, the day before Mother's Day, Hunter's mom suffered an Ischemic Stroke. She's only 43 years old. She was home alone at the time so was not able to be administered IV tPA. When paramedics got her to the hospital, they were quite positive she wasn't going to make it. Hunter actually flew to North Carolina from California thinking his mom didn’t make it! 

Just like a mom, Kat fought her way back! She is awake and breathing on her own!! She has severe damage to the left side of her brain, no mobility on the right side of her body, Dysphasia (can't swallow), Broca's aphasia (can't speak), brain swelling is continuing but slowing down. She is not out of the woods yet, but she's AWAKE and she's HERE! She is in ICU at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC. Hunter and his daughter, Abira, are in North Carolina as he is helping with his brothers & sisters, going back and forth from the hospital, etc. Kat's husband, Gene, hasn't left her yet! 

If you know me, you know how much I loved my Aunt Melissa & how close we were. So, hearing what happened to Kat really hits home. Hunter has always held a special place in our hearts, and always will. All we want is to take some stress off the family so they can keep their focus where it needs to be-on Kat! On her health, her therapy & getting her better! Please join me in helping lift some burdens off Kat & her family. Most importantly, please continuously pray for her strength & recovery.
