Let’s help Lu get out ❤️

Hi my name is Catherine and I’m organizing this gofundme on behalf of my friend who is a queer woman living in Nigeria.

Lu was outed to her dad a few months ago and they agreed not to tell her mother until Lu had sorted out her living arrangement as she currently lives at home.

Her move out date has however been pushed forward due to being outed to her religious mother by a close family member.

She has now been asked to move out as she is no longer welcome in the house.

Not only did this close family member out Lu to her mother, they also went ahead to send derogatory messages to her partner. They have made Lu’s daily life unbearable, making homophobic and derogatory comments to her daily.

Unfortunately she’s currently out of a job, which is what necessitated the creation of this gofundme. Prior to her job loss, she worked as a transcriptionist, editor and proofreader and is currently searching for a new job.

I would like to raise between $1500 and $2500 to enable her get an apartment and also cover the cost of basic furnishing of the apartment.

She’ll be moving to a new city for a fresh start as well as cheaper rent and cost of living.
