Maniyah’s story What is lupus ? Lupus is me .
Hey, I know you're wondering how your life could go oh so great to transform into a medical illness within 30 seconds. How did our journey go, it all started with a nose bleed that lasted for 2weeks before going to a hospital. From that point on, rashes started to appear all over Maniyah's body, this is where I became a little more concerned. We went to 3 hospitals, Virtual in Camden, Virtual in Voorhees, and Our lady of Lourdes hospital to figure out what are these rashes and blisters are all over Maniyah’s body. Several doctors told us it was Poison ivy, chicken pops and so on which wasn’t true at all. How stressful could that be? The last hospital recommended We go see a dermatologist after a week in the hospital. Consistent blood work was drawn, come to find out Maniyah has lupus. She’s been hospitalized for two weeks within one month of being diagnosed. This is a very overwhelming journey that’s new to Maniyah and I. People say things will get better in due time but this is part of her life now, if you’re a parent you know how I feel. All the stress, late nights, staying up making sure she’s OK, afraid to leave her side, making sure her health remains healthy, and helping her remain confident in her own skin. Doctors appointment every week to make sure her blood count is okay . with lupus her autoimmune symptoms doesn’t Recognize her own body so every day a new blister is developing. With several medications that Maniyah has to take is unbearable, the stomach pains, aches, and pains throughout the day are painful to watch your child suffer. Blisters on her feet sometimes stop her from doing daily activities or even standing for a long period of time. With only being 15 years old what Teenager wanna experience such an emotional roller coaster like this? With Maniyah's birthday right around the corner, how could she celebrate going through this? Can you imagine what Maniyah is going through? The hardest part is her Mother, she tells me to be strong and everything going to be okay. Deep down inside my soul, it’s tearing me apart to keep a smile on my face to help her stay strong. We smile, we cry, and pray together. As her mother, I pray to remain solid to help Maniyah through this tuff journey. I ask and pray if you can spread a word of Encouragement, a prayer and a blessing to help Maniyah hope stays alive. if you know someone with Lupus any information is hopeful to learn. I’m here to listen. Let’s make her life a little more Adventures so she can realize this is just the beginning and it isn’t over yet because this autoimmune disease doesn’t fully take over our life. Let’s all pray to help a helping hand because I need all prayers and blessings to help us thru this path. Thank you for taking your time out and listening to our journey.
