Let's Help Marlene with her fight against Breast Cancer

Hi, my name is Marlene dela Cruz, and I’m a 49-year-old single mother of three wonderful boys. My journey took a challenging turn when I was diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer while working on a cruise ship. I received the news I never wanted to hear on June 15, 2023, after undergoing a CT scan that revealed a 95% likelihood of malignancy. Just two weeks later, the biopsy confirmed my worst fears: it was malignant.

I began my fight against cancer with chemotherapy on October 4, 2023. I endured eight grueling sessions, and after them, I faced surgery on May 27, 2024. Following the surgery, I underwent 25 sessions of radiation therapy, which was another tough battle. Now, I am currently on targeted therapy to combat the Her2 positive hormones, with eight sessions remaining every 28 days.

The financial burden of my treatment has been overwhelming. Initially, my company supported my first cycle of treatment, but once they deemed my illness non-work-related, they cut their medical support. This left me in a devastating position, as I am now unemployed and struggling to support both my treatment and the needs of my children. Despite my efforts to seek help from the government in the Philippines, the support I need hasn't been forthcoming.

As a devoted mother, I want to be there for my children and ensure they have what they need while I continue my fight against cancer. However, the cost of my targeted therapy medication is substantial, and I am reaching out to you for help. Your support would mean the world to me and would allow me to focus on my health and my family without the constant worry of financial strain.
